These fellows are the eponymous heroes of the comic created by Larry Williams, his brother Tim and myself. Just so you know, Apeman is the big gorilla and Monkeyboy is the grinning idiot chimpanzee, and when they're not saving the world in spandex they're respectively known as Clarence and Bobo, a pair of seemingly normal simians who reside in San Diablo Zoo. The precise circumstances surrounding their rise to superherodom are complex and weird, so hopefully it’ll suffice to say that they acquired super strength from a bizarre laboratory experiment and got really good at building gadgets from reading lots of books when no humans were looking. (In case you’re wondering, the green things attached to their belts are vine whips, which they use to swing from place to place when the mood takes them.)
This piccy was coloured with Karisma pencils, my favourite colouring tools in the world ever, which naturally they’ve now stopped making because they found out I liked them. A thousand curses.
Thanks muchly! And I'm glad you like MB (as he's known in certain circles). He's an incredible showoff, but his heart's in the right place. His brain, on the other hand, isn't.
Very good drawing indeed. I especially like Apeman!
I wanted to know a thing, tough: how do you color in such a soft way? Is it your technique or is it Karisma pencils' "fault"? Or maybe a mixture of both?
